A new house asked for a new wardrobe. Not just any wardrobe: a walk-through one, meaning a space you pass through on the way to the bedroom. Cabinets on both sides, one side HIS, the other HERS. And yes, the question of who gets which side earned itself a rather lively debate of its own.
Since we already knew Dominika's things from the move and the packing, we could estimate precisely how many hanging rails were needed, and how many drawers: shallow, deep and glass-fronted.
Clothes that are beautiful in their own right we let breathe: no doors, displayed as part of the space. Bold? Perhaps. But Dominika has a way with clothes, and her wardrobe looks like a shop window. The only mirrored doors hide household textiles, suitcases, bags, bed linen and duvets for the third child in shared custody.
A mirror makes a space look bigger. Or is it prieSTORY? 🙂 When planning and drawing, we also counted in a place for the laundry basket. Everything on the upper shelves is discreetly labelled so nobody gets lost, provided, of course, they remember to read.
